The Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP) sustained their sit-in at the Faizabad interchange in Islamabad, steadfastly presenting their demands. The TLP urges the government to provide humanitarian aid and medical support to Palestinians, coupled with an official boycott on Israeli products.

As reported by Dawn, the substantial assembly of protesters has precipitated significant traffic disruptions, forcing travelers to utilize longer alternative routes connecting Islamabad and Rawalpindi. Several adjacent roads have been obstructed with stones. TLP is recognized as a far-right Islamic political entity in Pakistan, noted for its adamant advocacy on religious issues, especially relating to Islam and blasphemy laws.

The party's fervent anti-Israel posture reflects dominant sentiments within specific segments of Pakistani society. This sentiment is bolstered by historical, religious, and political influences, further substantiated by Pew Research Center's findings, which highlight widespread adverse views of Israel among Pakistanis. By positioning itself as a guardian of Islam, TLP's sway in Pakistani politics has amplified, especially among conservative and religious factions.

In 2017, TLP spearheaded a significant sit-in protest at the Faizabad interchange in Islamabad, calling for stricter adherence to blasphemy laws and the resignation of the law minister, which immobilized the capital for weeks. In 2021, TLP supporters clashed with police across various Pakistani cities following the arrest of their leader, Saad Rizvi, on charges of provocative speeches. The clashes resulted in injuries and property damage. TLP also held nationwide protests demanding the expulsion of the French ambassador in the wake of Prophet Muhammad caricatures in France, which led to violent incidents and arrests.

In recent years, the party has effectively mobilized demonstrations and protests against Israel, continually framing the Israeli-Palestinian conflict in religious and ideological terms. As tensions mount at Faizabad interchange, the government is under increased pressure to address these demands amidst broader geopolitical and domestic challenges, highlighting the intricate dynamics between religion, politics, and international affairs in the region.
