Shortly after being released in a Federal Investigative Agency's (FIA) case, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) activist Sanam Javed was arrested again by Islamabad Police on Sunday, ARY News reported. Javed had previously been arrested by the FIA in connection with her actions in May this year, when she reportedly encouraged people to gather at the Corps Commander House through a tweet.
The FIA team apprehended her from Gujranwala, charging her under cybercrime laws. The charges originated from a May 9 tweet that allegedly called people to assemble at the Corps Commander House. On Sunday, the Sessions Court ordered her immediate release from jail. Magistrate Malik Imran decreed her discharge, accepting her lawyer's plea.
Javed's advocate, Ali Ashfaq, revealed that the PTI activist was acquitted by the Sessions Court in an FIA case on Sunday. However, moments after the court ordered her release, Islamabad Police arrested her in another case, according to ARY News. Ashfaq emphasized their compliance with the law, stating, "We handed over Sanam Javed to the police without resistance. This is how law-abiding people should behave, as we did."
