In a significant milestone, the Sharjah Electricity, Water, and Gas Authority (SEWA) received a prestigious global certificate from the PrintReleaf Standard organization. The accolade was awarded in acknowledgment of SEWA's exceptional commitment to sustainable development and environmental preservation.

SEWA, in collaboration with Xerox Emirates, launched an initiative to participate in the global reforestation programme endorsed by PrintReleaf. This initiative resulted in the planting of 115 trees between January 1st and May 31st, 2024, compensating for the paper used in printing activities.

Majid Huraimel Al Shamsi, Director of SEWA General Department of Institutional Support, accepted the certificate from Mahmoud Al Yahya, General Manager of Xerox UAE, highlighting SEWA's dedication to environmental conservation and sustainable practices. Ahmed Hussein Abdullah Al Hammadi, Head of SEWA's ICT Department, emphasized the importance of electronic transformation and minimizing paper consumption to achieve zero paper usage.
