India and Austria Forge Strong Ties in Sustainable Economic Partnership and Green Hydrogen Initiative

India and Austria, on Wednesday, emphasized the pivotal role of sustainable economic partnerships while backing institutional cooperation in renewable and green hydrogen sectors. Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to Austria from July 9-10 featured bilateral talks with Chancellor Karl Nehammer.
As members of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), both nations are committed to limiting the rise in global average temperatures to well below two degrees Celsius above pre-industrial levels. Leaders acknowledged the expanded collaboration within Austria's Hydrogen Strategy and India's National Green Hydrogen Mission, underscoring a comprehensive partnership between companies and R&D institutions in the green hydrogen domain.
The leaders also highlighted the significance of research, scientific collaborations, and innovation, urging enhanced partnerships to develop and commercialize technology through new business models. Moreover, they welcomed the formation of the high-level bilateral Business Forum, which included CEOs from various sectors, and initiatives connecting innovation ecosystems via the Start-Up Bridge. Additionally, targeted cooperation in environmental technologies and the industrial adoption of digital solutions was encouraged.
