Nobel laureate and Austrian physicist Anton Zeilinger has praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi as a spiritual individual, emphasizing this attribute as essential for international leaders. Zeilinger, renowned for his work on quantum mechanics and a 2022 Nobel Prize winner for Physics, met with PM Modi in Vienna on Wednesday.

Their discussions spanned an array of themes from spirituality to advancements in quantum technology. Zeilinger detailed their conversation, describing it as 'very pleasant.' He stated, 'We discussed spiritual matters, possibilities in quantum information and technology, and fundamental quantum physics concepts. I found him to be a deeply spiritual person, a trait more global leaders should embody today.'

In their meeting, PM Modi shared insights on India's National Quantum Mission, while both exchanged views on the role of quantum computing and technology in modern society. In addition, PM Modi interacted with Austrian influencers and scholars during his visit, highlighting the long-standing intellectual and cultural ties between the two countries. Austrian Chancellor Karl Nehammer announced impending cooperation agreements between Indian and Austrian technical universities. This marks the first visit by an Indian Prime Minister to Austria in four decades, subsequent to Modi's recent visit to Russia.
