Ethiopia all set to construct specialized cardiac centre worth €40m in Addis Ababa

Ethiopia is preparing the ground to construct a specialized cardiac centre worth 40 million euro in its capital city, Addis Ababa inside the Black Lion Specialized Hospital compound.
The ‘planned’ specialized cardiac centre in Addis Ababa is going to have the financial assistance from the government of Netherlands. The officials have laid the cornerstone on April 29 for the constructional of the national cardiac centre. Ethiopia’s Ministry of Health revealed that the construction is expected to be completed in the next two years. It is said to be offering free treatment to 35 percent of the very poor population.
Due to the shortage of specialized cardiac hospitals, Ethiopia is observing that heart disease has turned one of the major non-communicable diseases leading many to lost lives. The upcoming cardiac centre is expected to solve this problem.
On the other hand, Ethiopia’s Ministry of Health is working on multiple projects under Black Lion Specialized Hospital to provide treatment for the major non-communicable diseases such as cancer and kidney problem.
