Rwanda Correctional Service, Rwanda Defence Force, Rwanda Investigation Bureau and Rwanda National Police already joined Zigama Credit and Saving Society. Only Rwanda Forensic Laboratory was left behind.
Rwanda Forensic Laboratory has now become the latest addition to Zigama Credit and Saving Society family. On Friday, March 15, the membership of Rwanda Forensic Laboratory was confirmed during the bank’s general assembly that took place at Rwanda Defence Force headquarter in Kimihurura. The lab operated under Rwanda National Police till 2018.
Police handed it over last year after completing construction of a complex worth Rwf7 billion that currently houses the institution. It will now commence enjoying the benefits of the cooperative bank as it (the bank) continues to expand its services. Hence, the core business of Rwanda Forensic Laboratory of providing scientific evidence through DNA tests is likely to increase.
“We’re trying to get the bank services closer to members of Zigama Credit and Saving Society as they can use their cell phones and other means of technology. The aim is to reduce the cost of transport to access services at the bank. The upcoming products will mainly focus on digital technology,” Dr James Ndahiro, the Chairman of Zigama Board of Directors said, as reported by The New Times.
