Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma spearheaded strategic reviews of the Health, Medical Education, and Mines departments to propel forward-looking policy initiatives. Central to his agenda is the swift construction of ten medical colleges across the state, enhancing Assam's healthcare infrastructure and aiming for a 'Swasth Assam'.
The Chief Minister emphasized the incorporation of cutting-edge medical technologies, including robotic surgeries, liver transplants, and artificial intelligence. He also mandated each district to begin work on establishing nursing colleges, alongside accelerating innovations like proton beam therapy and expanding the GMCH.
On the mining front, Sarma highlighted Assam's rich reserves of rare earth minerals pivotal for Industry 4.0, encouraging sustainable exploration aligned with national policies. This strategic venture has already attracted investment commitments of over Rs 50,000 crore, aiming to boost Assam’s economy sustainably.
