As of March 26, all Indian states and Union Territories, except for West Bengal, have joined the Ayushman Bharat - Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB-PMJAY), Union Health Minister J P Nadda disclosed in the Rajya Sabha. Over 8.9 crore hospital admissions worth Rs 1.26 lakh have been authorized under AB-PMJAY since its inception till March 1, 2025.

The scheme has seen significant growth in its beneficiary base, with more than 10.21 lakh, 14.47 lakh, and 14.76 lakh Ayushman cards issued to ASHA workers, Anganwadi Workers, and Anganwadi Helpers, respectively, as of March 20. The program currently has 30,957 hospitals, including both public and private, under its network.

Eligibility criteria have expanded to include 37 lakh health workers and senior citizens, offering them comprehensive health coverage. With enhancements like real-time monitoring tools and additional procedures, AB-PMJAY aims to bolster healthcare delivery and promote inclusivity in the healthcare sector.
