A consultant psychiatrist has unveiled that the rape-murder victim from RG Kar hospital, who sought his help a month before her tragic death, was under severe mental stress due to discriminatory work conditions and corruption within the hospital.
Dr. Mohit Ranadip, speaking to a Bengali TV channel, expressed his readiness to testify before the CBI, outlining the victim's grievances about exhaustive duty hours and observed irregularities in medical purchases which contributed to her mental duress.
The case, which saw arrests including that of the hospital's principal, has stirred significant controversy, with the Trinamool Congress advocating for a comprehensive probe, while political opposition ties allegations of misconduct to broader political motives.
