Tragic Food Poisoning Incident in Odisha: Two Sisters Die
Two sisters in Odisha's Gajapati district have died from suspected food poisoning after consuming a specially supplied 'sattu'. The local authorities have launched an investigation into the incident which also left another sister and their father critically ill.

In a tragic incident, two young sisters in Odisha's Gajapati district succumbed to suspected food poisoning after consuming special 'sattu' from a local Anganwadi Centre, officials reported on Monday.
The incident occurred on Sunday in Tulasi Nagar, Ramgiri village, where the victims were aged six and three. The elder sister died en route to the hospital, while the younger one passed away during treatment. Their father and another sister remain in critical condition at MKCG Medical College Hospital, according to doctors.
The authorities have recovered the 'sattu' bag for testing and have halted further distribution until results are obtained. An investigation has been ordered, although no similar complaints have been reported from other families in the village. The government has arranged for the treatment of the affected family, shared District Collector Bijay Kumar Dash.
