A two-month-old boy from Dungarpur, Rajasthan, admitted to an Ahmedabad private hospital, has tested positive for Human Metapneumovirus (HMPV), according to an official statement on Monday.

Gujarat Health Minister Rushikesh Patel has advised the public to remain calm, as he assured that the state is prepared to handle the viral infection. The infant, who was on a ventilator, has stabilized since the detection of the virus.

The Indian Council of Medical Research has previously recorded two similar cases in Karnataka, highlighting the virus's presence. Meanwhile, the Health and Family Welfare Department remains vigilant, emphasizing the importance of recognizing symptoms and taking appropriate preventive actions.
