President Droupadi Murmu made a heartfelt appeal to the nation on Friday, urging households to empower women to speak openly about their health-related issues. She highlighted that a lack of timely diagnosis often stems from traditional mindsets that dismiss the importance of women's health.

Speaking at the inauguration of the state-of-the-art KLE Cancer Hospital in Belagavi, Murmu shed light on the urgent need for societal change regarding women's health. She reported on a global study that identifies cancer as a leading cause of death worldwide and shared national data predicting a 13% increase in cancer incidence in India by 2025.

Murmu praised the Ayushman Bharat Jan Arogya Yojana for improving timely cancer treatment access, particularly for low-income groups. She also emphasized expanding the scheme's benefits and raised awareness about the critical need for cancer education and advocacy. Union Minister Prahlad Joshi lauded the growth of the KLE Society from its humble beginnings to a significant educational and healthcare institution across Karnataka and Maharashtra.
