Sarojini Devi Eye Hospital in Hyderabad attended to 48 cases of eye injuries caused by Diwali firecrackers, according to hospital officials on Friday.

Hospital superintendent Modini Pandharpurkar stated that out of the 48 people affected, eight required admission, comprising three children and five adults. Fortunately, none suffered severe injuries that could lead to vision loss.

With Diwali celebrations expected to continue over the weekend, the hospital anticipates more such cases and is fully prepared. Pandharpurkar advised parents to supervise children and urged the youth to avoid dangerous practices like lighting firecrackers in their hands.
