A 2-year-old Kenyan boy has set a new milestone by becoming India's youngest pancreatic donor following a procedure at PGIMER, Chandigarh, the hospital announced on Tuesday.
The young donor, who suffered fatal injuries in an accident, has extended a lifeline to terminally ill patients through vital organ transplants, the institute reported in a statement.
This act of generosity has also facilitated corneal transplants, offering 'the gift of sight' to two individuals, marking a significant precedent in foreign national organ donation at the hospital.
