Resident doctors across Rajasthan have officially ended their strike as of Wednesday evening, following the Rajasthan High Court's intervention. The strike, ongoing since Saturday, was in response to unfulfilled demands including a stipend increase and improved workplace security.
The Jaipur Association of Resident Doctors (JARD) spearheaded the protests, ceasing activities only after a court decision deemed it necessary and in the public interest. A single judge bench, led by Justice Sameer Jain, took suo motu cognisance of the matter, pushing both the state and the doctors towards reconciliation.
The court ordered the establishment of a committee, chaired by the Principal Secretary of Medical Education, to address any unresolved grievances. The situation will be revisited in court on November 21. JARD President Manohar Siyol welcomed the court's understanding and response to the doctors' concerns.
