Humanitarian Crisis in Northern Gaza: UNRWA Faces Access Denials
The UN's Palestinian refugee agency, UNRWA, accuses Israeli authorities of blocking aid missions to northern Gaza, leaving critical supplies like food and medicine inaccessible. As hospitals struggle without power, displaced individuals are forced into dire living conditions, with some even taking refuge in bathrooms. A ceasefire is urged to alleviate the worsening humanitarian crisis.

Authorities in Israel continue to bar humanitarian efforts from reaching northern Gaza, according to the head of the United Nations' Palestinian refugee agency, UNRWA, Philippe Lazzarini. Essential supplies, including food and medicine, are being withheld from people under siege, exacerbating the humanitarian crisis.
Overcrowded shelters force displaced individuals to take refuge in restrooms, while those attempting to flee reportedly face lethal risks. Efforts to rescue people trapped under rubble are also obstructed, Lazzarini revealed, highlighting the urgent need for international intervention.
While Israel claims to be facilitating humanitarian deliveries and evacuations, UNRWA calls for unobstructed access to Gaza, condemning the manipulation of humanitarian aid for military objectives. A ceasefire is described as essential to ending the ongoing violence.
