Doctors at the Tomo Riba Institute of Health and Medical Sciences (TRIHMS) in Arunachal Pradesh have successfully performed a pioneering surgery on a one-month-old girl diagnosed with retinopathy of prematurity plus disease.
This remarkable feat was executed with intravitreal anti-VEGF under topical anesthesia, led by assistant professor Dr. Taw Anne Dipu from TRIHMS's Department of Ophthalmology, with assistance from Dr. Pepu Jini and Dr. Nandan from the Department of Pediatrics.
Chief Minister Pema Khandu lauded the medical team for achieving this milestone, praising their dedication and commitment to advancing healthcare in the state. His congratulatory message highlighted the significance of this procedure in delivering advanced medical services in Arunachal Pradesh.
