The 88-year-old monarch is undergoing medical tests for lung inflammation, as stated by the royal court on Sunday. The Crown Prince expressed hope for the King's speedy recovery.
Earlier in May, King Salman also received treatment for lung issues. Despite his health challenges, he has continued to be active, with recent engagements including chairing a cabinet meeting via video conference.
