In a move to ease access to medical supplies for journalists, Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak has directed the opening of dedicated medicine counters at all government hospitals.

The decision, driven by Pathak's portfolio in the Health Department, was communicated to the principal secretary via an official statement.

This initiative emerged after a meeting with Hemant Tiwari, president of the accredited correspondents committee, who raised concerns about journalists' challenges in procuring medicines because of extensive queues at general counters.
