The Rajasthan Medical Council's Registrar has been suspended following allegations of registering doctors using fake documents, officials confirmed on Tuesday.

Health Minister Gajendra Singh Khinvsar formed a five-member committee, whose interim report led to the immediate suspension of the registrar, Dr Rajesh Sharma. Dr Girdhar Gopal Goyal, Chief Specialist Surgery at Sawai Mansingh Hospital, has been appointed as the interim registrar.

Khinvsar revealed that the report identified serious procedural flaws and irregularities. The state government is determined to investigate the issuance of fake registrations thoroughly.
