In a concerning incident, 38 children from a private school near Thane city, Maharashtra, were hospitalized on Tuesday following suspected food poisoning after consuming a mid-day meal.
The children, aged between 8 and 11 years, reported symptoms such as giddiness, nausea, headache, and abdominal pain, leading to their admittance to the civic hospital in Kalwa town.
Thane Municipal Corporation (TMC) Additional Commissioner Sandeep Malvi confirmed the incident, noting that the children are now out of danger and responding well to medical treatment. Food samples have been collected by FDA officials for further analysis, although it remains unclear if the matki curry served was stale.
