Israeli Airstrikes: Carnage in Gaza and Hezbollah Conflict in Lebanon
Israeli airstrikes across Gaza on Monday killed 12 people, including journalist Wafa Al-Udaini and her family. The death toll of Palestinian journalists in the conflict rose to 174. Amidst lowered ground offensive intensity, Israel intensified airstrikes while combating Hezbollah in Lebanon following the death of its leader Nasrallah.
Israeli airstrikes pounded areas across the Gaza Strip on Monday, killing 12 people, including a journalist and her family, according to medics.
Palestinian health officials reported that Wafa Al-Udaini, a writer advocating the Palestinian viewpoint, was killed along with her husband and two children when a missile struck their home in Deir Al-Balah. The Israeli military has not commented.
The offensive has claimed 174 Palestinian journalists since October 7, as reported by the Hamas-run Gaza government media office. There were additional casualties in Rafah and Beit Hanoun.
Later on Monday, an Israeli airstrike in Nuseirat killed six people. Despite lowered ground offensive intensity, airstrikes have continued amid Israel's concurrent conflict with Hezbollah in Lebanon. Nasrallah's death was confirmed by Hezbollah on Saturday.
Amid the ongoing conflict, Israeli authorities released 12 Palestinians in the southern Gaza Strip, including a surgeon from Nasser Hospital. Released prisoners have accused Israel of torture, which Israeli authorities deny.
The war has displaced most of Gaza's 2.3 million residents, with over 41,500 Palestinians killed, according to Gaza health authorities.
