The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) has taken a significant step towards addressing work pressure-related stress among its members by setting up a dedicated group to suggest more stress management measures. This initiative follows the tragic death of chartered accountant Anna Sebastian Perayil, who allegedly succumbed to extreme work pressure.
In addition to the dedicated group, ICAI will introduce a special counselling help desk within the national call centre (9997599975) to assist members with stress management and work-life balance concerns. The institute intends to develop peer support networks, allowing members to share experiences, seek advice, and collaborate on addressing stress management challenges.
ICAI President Ranjeet Kumar Agarwal emphasized the importance of balanced work policies, urging organizations to prioritize employee health and reduce stress. Collaborations with health institutions and industry partners are also in the pipeline to promote flexible work models and comprehensive stress management programs.
