British Indian cardiologist and healthy lifestyle advocate Aseem Malhotra premiered his groundbreaking documentary 'First! Do No Pharm' in London's Leicester Square. The film aims to expose the pharmaceutical industry's profit-oriented approach to healthcare by featuring testimonies from leading medical and sector experts globally.
Introduced by British Indian filmmaker Gurinder Chadha, the premiere highlighted Malhotra's commitment to his Hippocratic Oath. ''Aseem is a very old friend of mine, and I have watched his brave and often perilous journey confronting corruption and malpractice," said Chadha. ''He does this in defence of my health and millions like me searching for the truth about healthcare.''
Directed by Donal O'Neill, the film incorporates personal storytelling and interviews with key figures like Indian American Professor Jay Bhattacharya and Indian environmental activist Vandana Shiva. ''We have a pandemic of misinformed doctors and unwittingly harmed patients. It is time to put an end to this,'' said Malhotra, who previously campaigned against widespread statin use and high sugar consumption.
