The Chhattisgarh Institute of Medical Sciences (CIMS) saw significant changes as both its dean, KK Sahare, and medical superintendent, SK Nayak, were suspended on Monday. Allegations of financial irregularities and dereliction of duty precipitated this action.
Health Minister Shyam Bihari Jaiswal, who made the announcement after a council meeting, cited a lack of transparency regarding income, expenditure, and purchase details, including those under the Ayushman scheme, as major concerns needing an investigation.
Jaiswal emphasized that Sahare and Nayak's suspension was necessary to ensure an impartial inquiry, now to be led by the Commissioner of Medical Education, into financial activities over the past three years.
