The Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) has intensified its efforts to combat vector-borne diseases by carrying out 27 special drives in high-risk areas, including police stations, parks, schools, hospitals, and government offices. This was confirmed by an official on Monday.

The civic body has ramped up its initiatives to prevent the spread of dengue, malaria, and chikungunya through various measures like house-to-house inspections and public awareness campaigns, Additional Commissioner Pankaj Agrawal told PTI. Regular insecticide spraying and special fogging operations during large gatherings were also part of these efforts.

The MCD has collaborated with key agencies such as the Delhi Police, Delhi Jal Board (DJB), Public Works Department (PWD), and the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) to ensure optimal resource utilization. Legal actions, including over 1.14 lakh legal notices and 39,338 challans, have been issued against those who allowed mosquito breeding on their properties. Future plans include increased fogging operations at major public events and enhanced inspections in high-risk areas.
