Raipur, 23 September 2024 – The BALCO Medical Centre, part of the Vedanta Medical Research Foundation, concluded its 2nd Edition of the BMC Chhattisgarh Cancer Conclave. Held from 20th to 22nd September, the event united international and national oncology leaders to address urgent challenges in cancer care. Expert faculty from multiple countries shared insights on pragmatic, patient-first approaches to cancer treatment, particularly for low-middle income countries (LMICs).

Centered on the theme ''Common Sense Oncology (CSO) for outcomes that matter,'' the event included live surgical demonstrations with augmented reality and specialized workshops designed to boost essential skills in oncology. Mrs. Jyoti Agarwal, Chairperson of Vedanta Medical Research Foundation, emphasized the Conclave’s collaboration focus to advance patient-centered cancer care.

Dr. Enrique Soto, Editor in Chief of ecancer, highlighted the need to shift focus from commercial interests to patient perspectives in cancer treatment. The Conclave also featured a Nursing Conclave, underscoring the critical role of nurses in cancer care. Drawing over 1000 participants, the event facilitated valuable discussions and strategic advancements for equitable cancer care access in India.
