The Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) has been honored with the 2024 UN Inter-Agency Task Force Award, recognizing its significant progress in advancing multi-sectoral action on preventing and controlling non-communicable diseases (NCDs) and mental health issues, Union Health Minister J P Nadda announced on Wednesday.

The ICMR's initiatives, such as establishing national centers for Assistive Health Technology, promoting sustainable assistive products, and conducting the world's largest Assistive Technology (AT) survey, are making a lasting impact, Nadda emphasized.
