Consuming three cups of coffee a day could significantly lower the risk of developing multiple metabolic conditions, including diabetes and heart diseases, by 40-50%, a recent study indicates.

Researchers at Suzhou Medical College of Soochow University, utilizing UK Biobank data, studied over 1.72 lakh people taking caffeine and 1.88 lakh coffee and tea drinkers, all initially free of cardiometabolic conditions.

The study found that moderate coffee or caffeine intake, specifically three cups or 200-300 milligrams daily, correlated with a 40-48% reduced risk of cardiometabolic multimorbidity. The results were published in the Journal of Clinical Endocrinology & Metabolism.
