Leader of Opposition in the Delhi Assembly, Vijender Gupta, met Lieutenant Governor V K Saxena on Thursday, seeking a probe into the alleged 'healthcare scam' under the AAP government, helmed by Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal.

In his statement, the BJP leader charged that the AAP government's supposedly 'world-class health model' is merely a facade masking significant corruption.

'I have asked the L-G to investigate the involvement of AAP leaders in these issues,' Gupta said.

Responding to the allegations, the AAP stated, 'The BJP and its L-G are most welcome to order all kinds of investigations. It appears there is no department where they have not sanctioned an investigation.' The party questioned, 'With all officers reporting to the L-G, how did they allow this corruption of hundreds of crores?'

Gupta further alleged that several hospital construction projects remain incomplete, inflating costs despite an approved outlay of Rs 5,590 crore.

The AAP countered, 'These files have not been sent to ministers for approval until today. Why are officers handling files independently, and why is the L-G not acting against the PWD or Health Secretary?'

Additionally, the BJP MLA claimed the Delhi government failed to use Centre-allocated funds, especially Rs 2,406 crore under the PM Ayushman Bharat Health Infrastructure Mission for modern laboratories and ICU centres.

'To address this healthcare scam under Kejriwal, the BJP legislative group met the head of the Anti-Corruption Branch (ACB) on August 22 and submitted relevant documents,' Gupta detailed. The ACB has begun investigating, and a complaint has been filed with the Central Vigilance Commission, the BJP leader asserted.
