A junior doctor at the state-run Gandhi Hospital was reportedly assaulted by a patient on Wednesday, triggering widespread concerns among medical staff.

The Gandhi Junior Doctors Association (JUDA) stated that the intoxicated patient attacked the female intern while she was on duty in the Casualty department around 3.30 pm. The association called for swift action to ensure safety.

CCTV footage showed the man, described as mentally unstable and in his 60s, grabbing and assaulting the intern. The police are investigating the incident following a complaint, and further steps are ongoing.
