On Tuesday, Delhi Health Minister Saurabh Bharadwaj announced that the mpox patient at LNJP Hospital is in stable condition. The patient, a 26-year-old from Haryana's Hisar, exhibits only genital ulcers and skin rashes but no fever.
Bharadwaj conducted a surprise inspection at the hospital to evaluate its preparedness for mpox and dengue cases. He emphasized that mpox spreads through contact, not air, and assured the public there's no need to panic.
The Union health ministry labeled it an 'isolated case' with no immediate public risk. With LNJP as the nodal facility, other hospitals remain on standby, equipped to isolate patients if necessary. The patient, who recently traveled abroad, is currently stable and isolated in a designated ward.
