More than 25 girl students became sick after consuming deworming medicine at a government school in Madhya Pradesh's Sidhi district, according to an official statement on Tuesday.
The unsettling episode took place at the Government Model School in Khajuri, where Albendazole tablets were distributed for deworming.
Dr. Deeparani Israni, the district hospital's civil surgeon, confirmed that the students received prompt medical care and are now safe.
Witnesses reported that anganwadi workers administered the medication, which caused symptoms within 30 minutes of ingestion.
The affected students were from Classes 6 to 12, highlighting potential issues in school health program implementations.
