In a concerted effort to combat suicides, mental health professionals and officials emphasized the importance of identifying causes, preventing mental diseases, and providing proper treatment. Dr Bharti Dixit, Director of the National Health Mission, highlighted these points while addressing a video conference on World Suicide Prevention Day.

During the event, Dixit administered an oath for a 'suicide-free Rajasthan' and released awareness posters and short films. She stressed the importance of localised prevention steps and urged regular discussions with psychiatrists to develop effective strategies.

Dr Ravi Prakash Mathur, Director of Public Health, noted that this year's theme is 'Change the Narrative on Suicide, Start the Conversation.' Meanwhile, Psychiatry professor Dr Vinod Dadia discussed behavioral changes in Kota's coaching students, underlining the warning signs that precede such tragic actions.
