A 15-hour long cardiac surgery was successfully conducted at a private hospital in Noida, following a patient's unusual symptom of hoarseness in his voice.
The operation was a three-stage procedure carried out by the Kailash Hospital and Heart Institute's team in Sector 27, Noida.
In an official statement, Dr. Satish Mathew, chief cardiothoracic and vascular surgeon, explained that Bishan Singh Bisht arrived with a complaint of hoarseness. Tests revealed an orange-sized aortic aneurysm and blockages in two major arteries. The condition posed a significant risk, including heart attack.
The intricate surgery, led by Mathew, comprised an off-pump CABG, an artificial blood supply to the brain, and a Valiant Captiva endograft reinforcement of the aorta.
Post-operation, Bisht was monitored for seven days before being discharged. Dr. Mathew noted the hospital's history of over 5,000 heart and vascular surgeries in two decades.
