A medico-legal case has been registered in connection with the tragic deaths of two children in Maharashtra's Gadchiroli district, according to a health official on Thursday.
The children, aged 6 years and 3-and-a-half years, fell ill at their home in Pattigaon in Aheri taluka on September 4. Their parents took them on foot to the Jamilgatta primary health center, located approximately 15 kilometers away, the official reported.
Upon arrival at the health center, doctors declared the children dead. Despite requests for post-mortem, the parents initially took the bodies back to their village. Following the registration of the medico-legal case, the bodies have now been sent for post-mortem, with reports pending. The bodies will be returned to the parents after the procedure, the official added.
