Residents of the Supertech Ecovillage 2 housing society in Noida Extension are reportedly falling ill, with suspicions of water contamination being the cause. Symptoms include diarrhea and vomiting, mostly affecting children.
Raj Kumar, a media professional living in the society, said the issue surfaced during a WhatsApp discussion about water shortages. Many residents shared similar stories of illness, indicating that the problem might be widespread.
Another resident, Ashish Srivastava, noted that the society's water tanks were cleaned recently and suggested contamination might be the culprit. Many affected individuals have approached a local doctor, who confirmed infections.
Although residents claim over 100 individuals are affected, the local health department has yet to confirm the exact figure. Gautam Buddh Nagar Chief Medical Officer Dr. Sunil Sharma stated that health teams are investigating the situation. Supertech Ecovillage 2 is a large housing complex in Noida Extension, comprising around 20 high-rise towers with approximately 150 flats each.
