A snakebite victim in a remote village of Poonch district, Jammu and Kashmir, was saved by the prompt response of army paramedics on Sunday. Mohd Rashid was bitten in Jera Wali area around 9 am, leading to severe distress and unstable vital signs.

The army's paramedic team immediately administered anti-snake venom and hydrocortisone to counter the snake venom and manage allergic reactions. Rashid was later referred to Sub-district hospital Surankote for continued medical care once his condition stabilized.

In another incident, Abdul Ahad Bhat was seriously injured by a bear attack outside his home in Barachard village. Bhat was rushed to the district hospital for treatment, while the bear fled into the forest with its two cubs, officials reported.
