Sitaram Yechury, the general secretary of the Communist Party of India (Marxist), continues to receive medical attention at AIIMS, New Delhi, for a respiratory infection, according to party sources on Saturday.
Currently in the intensive care unit (ICU), Yechury is reportedly recovering under the care of a specialized medical team.
Admitted on August 19 with a pneumonia-like chest infection, the precise details of his condition remain undisclosed by the hospital. This follows his recent cataract surgery.
