The ongoing conflict between the Lieutenant Governor's office and the ruling AAP government over the construction of 24 hospitals reached new heights on Thursday. Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena accused the AAP of starting construction projects without planning for necessary staffing, including 38,000 posts for doctors and paramedics.

The AAP countered by stating that the Services department, under the LG's control, is responsible for creating sanctioned posts in all departments, including hospitals. In a recent review meeting, LG Saxena expressed 'grave exception' to the oversight.

The review highlighted fundamental planning and financial mismanagement in these public health projects. While civil construction began, no budgetary provisions were made for equipment, machinery, or personnel. Despite multiple budgets being presented over the years, additional costs have soared, turning the projects into unplanned, poorly executed endeavors.
