A fire at the Escientia pharma plant in Anakapalli claimed the lives of four workers on Wednesday.

Anakapalli District Collector Vijaya Krishnan reported that the incident, occurring around 2 pm, was not due to a reactor blast. An electrical issue is suspected to have caused the blaze.

Thirty injured individuals were transported to various hospitals in Anakapalli and Atchutapuram, and 13 trapped workers were successfully rescued.
