CPI(M) leader M Y Tarigami on Tuesday called for the regularisation of National Health Mission (NHM) employees in Jammu and Kashmir, along with the implementation of a proper transfer policy.

Tarigami stated that doctors and para-medical staff working under the NHM have been on contract for 16 years, facing job insecurity and low wages. Despite government assurances, no action has been taken for their regularisation.

He urged for the enhancement of wages based on equal-work-equal-pay principles and improvements in social security benefits, including ex-gratia relief and incentives for ASHAs. The government must address these issues urgently.
