The International Organization for Migration (IOM) has criticized global efforts to address the world's largest displacement crisis in Sudan, highlighting the exacerbating issues of hunger, disease, and floods that aggravate the suffering of an already conflict-ridden population.
IOM's Sudan mission, led by Mohamed Refaat, revealed that the organization has only secured 21% of the funding needed to provide essential humanitarian aid.
Currently, one in five Sudanese people are displaced, with 10.7 million internally displaced and an additional 2.3 million who have sought refuge across international borders.
