Chief Justice of India, D Y Chandrachud, underscored the necessity of empathy and compassion in the medical profession during his address at the 37th convocation of the Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER).

Referencing a scene from the movie 'Munna Bhai MBBS,' he emphasized that the ultimate goal of medicine is to uplift humanity. Chandrachud also highlighted India's role as a pioneer in medical innovations, lamenting that such advancements remain accessible to only a limited few.

The Chief Justice urged the young doctors to make healthcare accessible to everyone and emphasized the need for medical institutions to focus on rural health by integrating community-oriented training programs and outreach services into their curriculum.
