Innovative Solutions: Polyethylene Windows Bring Hope to War-Torn Ukraine

Tetiana Beibyko, a pensioner from eastern Ukraine, expresses approval for the polyethylene window that replaced her shattered glass windows. Her home is among the over 4,000 residences improved by Insulate Ukraine, a non-profit stepping in with quick, affordable solutions.

According to Insulate Ukraine, more than 10 million windows have been destroyed since Russia's full-scale invasion over 28 months ago. Despite the enormity of the destruction, the organization has managed to replace windows in many homes with durable polyethylene sheets.

Founded by Harry Blakiston Houston, Insulate Ukraine targets chronic window destruction with innovative triple-layered PVC and polyethylene materials. While not ballistic-proof, these windows are safer than glass, offering practical shelter improvements for residents near the conflict's frontline.
