Maharashtra Minister Tanaji Sawant on Monday revealed that dental treatment will now be included in the Pradhan Mantra Jan Aarogya and Mahatma Phule Jan Aarogya schemes. The state public health minister shared this update while addressing a question from legislator Satyajeet Tambe in the state legislative council.
This measure will expand the coverage of the schemes that offer an array of medical treatments free of charge at government-recognized hospitals. Currently, 1,000 private and state-run hospitals participate in these schemes. With the new policy, an additional 900 hospitals will be incorporated, with the expansion expected to finalize by July 31, Sawant announced.
Furthermore, the state government is in the process of developing an anti-fraud application aimed at preventing hospitals from submitting fake bills, he added.
