The state government has initiated an inquiry into the incident involving students from Bodhjung Higher Secondary School and Maharani Tulsibati School. According to West Tripura District Magistrate Vishal Kumar, the students had consumed the meal before attending their respective institutions.

"Two girls initially complained of stomach pain, followed by several others experiencing similar symptoms. Subsequently, the affected students were taken to GBP Hospital," Kumar informed reporters. Samples of the hostel food have been collected for examination. "Appropriate action will be taken if any adverse findings are detected in the food provided to the girl students," he added, noting that the students' condition is stable.
