Yeddyurappa has been declared Karnataka chief minister on Wikipedia before taking the charge formally. The Bhartiya Janata Party leader held the post of CM of Karnataka in 2008, a first time for the BJP party in a South Indian state.

Yesterday the Congress-JDS coalition led by Kumaraswamy fell after losing the trust vote in the assembly, bringing to end a three-week-long tussle. The confidence motion moved by Kumaraswamy was defeated with 99 members voting for the alliance and 105 against it in a House of 225, including Speaker KR Ramesh Kumar and a nominated member.

This is not the first time such a blunder has happened on Wikipedia. Yesterday Wikipedia was describing HD Kumaraswamy as 'former CM of Karnataka' even before the official announcement of his resignation. The free online encyclopedia later updated its page and the mistake was rectified.

Last year as well, Wikipedia declared Atal Vihari Vajpayee dead without any official confirmation, the page was later updated and the information was removed.
