Angola has participated in the 14th edition of the International Defense Industry Fair, which has been inaugurated in Turkey’s Büyükçekmece on April 30. The fair will continue till May 3.

Angola participates in the event with a delegation led by the Secretary of State for Material Resources and Infrastructure, Afonso Carlos Neto, representing the Minister of National Defense, Salviano Sequeira.

The event aims to promote and increase the international competitive power of the national defense industry and is organized every two years since 1993.

The note reads that the fair has become an important international platform for the promotion, marketing and cooperation of the defense, security, naval, aeronautics and aerospace sectors and provides a meeting between national and foreign exhibitors and delegations.

The document indicates that in the last edition held in 2017 the fair was visited by 65,782 people from 116 countries, of which 60,754 were Turkish and 5,028 foreigners.

The International Defense Industry Fair is hosted by the Ministry of National Defense, under the auspices of the Presidency of the Republic of Turkey and the management and responsibility of the Turkish Armed Forces Foundation. A total of 1,061 firms, including 576 foreign and 485 Turkish companies, will participate in this year's fair. Some 250 of the Turkish participants will be small and medium-sized enterprises.
